There is a discovery on how the Google displays its top image results. It'll be better if I show you right? Well then, go to Google Image Search and type in anything you want to search. Click on one of the pictures on the top results and save them in your computer. Most probably, the image that you'll have has a filename containing your keywords. So for example I type the word hate, you'll see a really red bloody picture with a word hate in one of the top results. Amazingly, when you save it in your computer, the image has a filename of hate. Pretty cool huh?

You could also try putting the keywords on the image's alt tags when you edit it in html form. That helps too. But I strongly recommend that you rename your images filename into a specific keyword.

You might think it's worthless traffic

It really could be worthless traffic. Still, it's EXTRA traffic to your website or blog. Unlike social-bookmarking for example, you only get traffic maybe for a limited time depending on how compelling your article is to the bookmarkers. Well first, it's free. Second, it's easy. Third, I having many images in my blog so I better use it than letting them virtually rot in here. Fourth, Google automatically picks these images up so I don't have to look after them or optimize them in any way. Fifth, it's hundred times easier to get to the top results compared to the Google Web Search. Sixth, ok, I'm running out of reasons. I just like this traffic-generating strategy.
